what to expect when you get back from a foreign country...

it was the best of times... and the worst of times...

how was it the best of times? well... that's simple! i'm home. i'm with my family, and my friends! i have an amazing job where i get bank for working with little kids all day. (basically i get paid for goofing off... bomb) i finally am back in THE state to be in... CALIFORNIA!!! but at the same time...

i miss mexico horribly. i am still way sick. if you haven't heard, i have something living inside of me. we're not sure what it is yet, but my guess is worms. so that's charming... the horchata doesn't cut it here. the closest thing i've tasted to horchata is my left-over milk after cinnamon toast crunch. and i haven't had a churro in a little over a week now. it's depressing.

it's complicated... but i've been keeping busy. so that is good. =)

this week in short...
i went to the oakland a's game with our singles' ward. it was way fun... here is a picture of becca, jo, kim, and i in front of the field.

like i said earlier, my job is amazing. here are a few pictures of the cute second graders that were in my group last week. =)

on saturday the fantastic four was reunited again... and we went bike riding in san francisco. it was so much fun to party with them again. we did it all, we saw it all... pretty much the ideal day. and our dear dog sparky came along too. =) at the end of the day, we had a bonfire and talked. man i missed those fools...

that's basically all that's going on in my life! i'll write more on sunday!!!

con amor, jessica

un cambio muy grande en mi vida...

now that i'm home... things sure are different.

i mean, there are the obvious differences. like the lack of constant horchata & churros. and of course i can flush toilet paper. and i sure love air conditioning.

but other things are different now, too. it's for the better. i sure am glad to be home, with the experience of mexico under my belt. i learned so much. i figured that i'd go down to mexico, and learn tons of spanish. i did. but that was the minor part of what i learned. i learned more about myself, and people. i learned to be grateful for everything, every moment, and everyone.

last night i hung out with my best friends (minus tyler). it was amazing. first we bought some horchata from the grocery store because i wouldn't stop talking about how amazing it is. then we just chilled in the back of mckay's truck. we drove out to knights ferry... sat under the stars. it was pretty much a classy emo thing to do. but i loved every second of it. i sure missed those fools.

today i went to kyle's farewell. i sure will miss that boy. such funny memories... like repelling, dance parties, and viruses on my computer... he's gonna be great on his mission. he's smart... and he's lucky. "all the girls seem to like me." -kyle. so there you have it, he's set. haha.

now i am at home. it's a great feeling, just laying here.

what am i doing for the rest of the week? well, i got a job for this week. i am going to be working at a day camp through girl scouts from 8 until 5... and i get 10 bucks an hour. happy day. mostly i am excited for the YSA oakland a's game this wednesday, and then sf on saturday. we are going to bike around and then have a bonfire on the beach... and probably drink a lot of horchata.

life is good... =)
