adam!

today adam took the dat (dental admissions test) and i wanted to brag about how smart he is.
his overall score was a 23 (and for those of you like me who aren't informed about the dat-in the 98.7th percentile)! he's a little genius!
he's been studying for a long time now, and in a few days his application will be submitted and i won't have to compete with dental school for a while. =)
i'm so proud of you, dear.

3 months!

can you believe that i have been married to adam for 3 months? time flies!

we got our wedding pictures in the mail and i have been waiting to put them on my blog (i feel that the 24th would be most appropriate since it's our anniversary!)

elk & bears & bison, oh my!

this weekend was so great! we went up to yellowstone with adam's family and had tons of adventures! my mom told me to take lots of pictures... so prepare yourself, because i did.

we drove for 6 hours through three new states (idaho, montana, and wyoming)

we saw lots of bear stuff at the gift shops...

and then we explored yellowstone! have a look!

we saw some amazing geysers and hot springs that were all different colors...

you might notice that from here on out... a good portion of our pictures show how windy it was (we have crazy hair)
as one boy said... "those are like one thousand million degrees! way hotter than a hot tub."

and we saw LOTS of elk...
quite a few bison...

and even a bear!

we went to the old faithful lodge and waited for old faithful

mom comes to town

hello everyone... sorry it has been so long (this week has been wild- i will explain in a bit.)

so, my mom came to town last friday and we had a great time. we sewed two new things...
these cute curtains

and this sewing machine cover (complete with pocket)!

so fun. we had a lovely time at the not-so-farmers'-market (probably a craft market). i ran over an orange cone and we got cherries! all in one day!

we also went to sundance to eat. that place is amazing. i am kicking myself for not going up there more often. it is beautiful. actually, adam and i are going on the ski lift in august to see the full moon. i am way excited. here is a picture of my mom and i by the river...

i am so glad that my mom got to come. i miss her tons, and i can't wait to see her, my dad, and brother when they go up to BYU-I to drop him off in the fall. man are we getting old.

so just a quick update with the rest of life:

• i got a 93% on my health midterm. you are the first to know!
• we are getting our wedding pictures in a couple of days (they are in the mail)!
• adam is taking the DAT (dental school test) in one week! no fun over here...
• i am taking the PRAXIS (el. ed. test) in two weeks!
• we are so grateful that we got season passes to seven peaks because it is HOT here without air conditioning.
  
• i turn my back for a couple of days on my poor plants and the GRASSHOPPERS eat everything!!! what is that about??? i have no idea on how to deal with these little beasts. i think i need some seagulls.
• adam started shadowing a dentist today. we are excited for the next couple of months!

that is mostly all going on here... hooray for summer!

happy fourth... provo style!

so it turns out that provo knows exactly how to celebrate the fourth of july! because it fell on a sunday, provo extended the day into the entire three-day weekend! it has been tons of fun! let me show you what we have been up to for the past four days...
we went to seven peaks...

we partied at the balloon festival...

it was lovely with tons of colors...

and pig balloons! REALLY!
we had a picnic of sugar cookies while waiting for the stadium of fire fireworks!

the wonderful thing about utah is definitely the beautiful summer sunsets...

on sunday, we enjoyed a delectable bbq of hamburgers...

and some festive fruit for adam...
then adam ran a 10k...

which is more than i could have done. and he got 9th in his division!

we also did a few fireworks... but i failed to get pictures. i have many sparklers leftover...
so i will get some pictures of those.

also, i got a wonderful sewing book... and there are so many fun projects to work on, i just don't know where to start!!!
